Work Camp
WHAT is a Workcamp?
A team of 300-400 Teenagers and adults will repair 60-80 homes in one week! With adult supervision, teens will complete basic home repairs, paint, light carpentry and weatherization projects for the elderly, disabled and disadvantaged at NO COST TO THEM!
HOW will this happen?
By partnering with GROUP CARES of Loveland Colorado!
 GROUP CARES, formally Group Workcamps, has over 37 years of PROVEN Success in planning these life changing events!
They will professionally promote our Camp nationally and will bring a Staff to Supervise and oversee all the aspects of the camp.
As a co-sponsor, I must raise $19,000. This will bring 12,000 volunteer hours of labor and over $30,000 in building materials where every cent remains in Bradenton!
The Campers will stay at Horizon School. All lodging, utility costs, food and salaries for cooks and custodians will be reimbursed by GROUP CARES.

| Dear Friends and Neighbors,
For the past 20 years, I have been blessed with the opportunity to serve as a volunteer STAFF with GROUP CARES of Loveland, Colorado.
This has been an amazing experience as I have traveled throughout the United States and Puerto Rico! I have witnessed many lives being changed and HOPE RESTORED to those in need!
 It has been MY PERSONAL DREAM to one day host my own Work Camp !
I LOVE BRADENTON and I am so proud to be part of this community! The people are very special here! I want to do my best to serve our community and make it the VERY BEST!
June 2012 my DREAM WILL BECOME A REALITY!
I have partnered with GROUP CARES and I am committed to raise $19,000 which is needed to make this life changing event happen!
GROUP CARES is AMAZING! They do the majority of the planning and organization, but I will need help with the funding and a team of people in our community to help as well!
This camp will help so many people on so may different levels! I promise you will be blessed far beyond what you contribute if you participate!

Volunteer your time!
The following Volunteer positions are needed:
SITE SURVEYORS
(15 Volunteers needed)
These people will be in charge of identifying sites and types of work to be done at homes. They will visit each site, write complete, thorough “Work Descriptions” including driving instructions. They should have a basic construction knowledge so they can write detailed instructions for each project.
LADDER TEAM
( 10 volunteers needed)
These people are responsible of locating, collecting, delivering and picking up the ladders needed for each site. They must find a place to store the ladders before campers arrive.
HOSPITALITY TEAM
( 10 volunteers needed)
You are the “welcome people!” Make Campers feel appreciated! Signs, snacks and welcome bags are a few ideas!
CONTRUCTION CLEAN-UP TEAM
( 15 volunteers needed)
Very Important job! After camp is over, you make sure all debris and garbage is picked up and properly disposed of.
